    Transfer News Summer Transfer Preview

Yes, you’re probably right, £400,000 seems a big outlay otherwise. Then again with things looking all a bit dismal in January with no cohesion, flakey results etc were we making the signing with L1 next season in mind? The prospect of Championship football looked a million miles away around the...

Depends what quality they are, only a fool would dismiss a signing on the basis they once played for us.

    Transfer News Summer Transfer Preview

I wonder if we’d still have signed Goodwin if we knew we were going to be in the championship? Definitely need reinforcements up front though, the taking of the odd chances that will come our way against some of the big hitters (Burnley, Sheffield U, Leeds, Southampton etc) is going to be...

    Ex-Staff Liam Manning

Small thanks to Manning for bringing in the likes of Harris, RR etc, just as thanks of sorts are due to Robinson for Moore, Brown, Murphy etc, but don’t kid yourself, this promotion is down to the brilliance and guidance of Des Buckingham. Of course it’s over 46 games and every point goes...

Not sure about ever but he definitely goes under the radar. Had a brilliant season and, just like the rest, a phenomenal last 10-12 games.

    Ex-Staff Liam Manning

After yesterday, we should be well and truly over every single ex manager and every single ex player. Who cares, we have reached the promised land under an Oxford lad, an Oxford fan and now an Oxford manager. It doesn’t get much better or much more perfect, yes it’s always nice to put one over...

Crawley keeper might be worth a look. Bit eccentric but decent keeper.

Ah, the downing tools saga, had forgotten about that, seems a lifetime ago now!

Absolutely! I didn’t notice that in real time but the touch, control and pass - wow!

    Current Player #23 Josh Murphy

In terms of form and consistency that’s probably right but in terms of changing the minds of the fans it was undoubtedly that Cheltenham game. Prior to that there was real indifference towards him, even mild booing at times. No ones disputing Des has got the best out of him as a player.

Mighty glad we are out of L1, it looks very strong next year. Can’t wait for the fixtures and it will be nice to have a season where we will see results differently - we wouldn’t really accept a home draw to anyone in L1 but there will be games next year where a home point will feel like a...

    Current Player #23 Josh Murphy

I still think the turning point in Murphy’s Oxford career was when he came on as sub v Cheltenham at home last season. He chased down the clearance and crossed for someone to tap in, within minutes he was whipping the crowd up and everyone seemed to almost instantly warm to him. A few minutes...

    Manager/Coach Des Buckingham

This is very true. Don’t forget too that he also outdid the manager of the leagues most in form team on the last day. Today was a game plan executed to perfection. Also a word about our discipline, I thought we exuded calmness out there and kept our heads brilliantly. A lot of us got Des wrong...

Every scenario possible has gone through my head the past few days! As excited as I am part of me just wants this stress over and done with, back to normality, and us in the Championship!!! I’m nervously confident (if that’s possible!!} …. 2-1 to us, Brannagan both, one from the spot!
