It’s possible that Manning used 3 at the back at MK due to the balance of their squad. It may work for us closing a game out, but why on earth would we play 3 from the start. What would we do with all the wingers? We are far better served as a squad playing the current formation.

I also thought he was a left winger. Played there by KR as he preferred Browne centrally but then when LM came in, he initially tried putting them on different wings to accommodate a different 3 centrally. Could well be wrong though. Memory is hazy. Last season thankfully seems light years away.

I actually think with the squad we have, we are fine for the first 3 (inc cup) games of the season. With the kinder 2 first league fixtures and the cup game a free hit, we basically get an additional 2 weeks to find the best in quality. There’s a lot of unnecessary panic around at the moment. I...
