Away Match Day Thread 18/05/2024: L1 Play-Off Final - Bolton vs Oxford

Every scenario possible has gone through my head the past few days! As excited as I am part of me just wants this stress over and done with, back to normality, and us in the Championship!!! I’m nervously confident (if that’s possible!!} …. 2-1 to us, Brannagan both, one from the spot!

That’s pretty much me too. This game is on my mind constantly, I’m desperate for us to do it. Had a dream last night that we won 1-0 with a goal from Joe Bennett, a mis hit shot that trickled in!

    Manager/Coach Des Buckingham

Your view, fair enough, it's a game of opinions. Personally, I'm not seeing him as one of the most 'complete wide men' we've had but I respect your view. To me, he very often fronts the man up, goes on the outside and gets dispossessed. All our wide players put a shift in defensively in my...

    Manager/Coach Des Buckingham

Agree about his endeavour and the connection he's forged with the fans BUT, where it matters, I'd like to see him deliver more. He doesn't too often get past his man and his final ball leaves a bit to be desired, there's a reason he's continually the one making way for a sub around the 60-70...

    Current Player #5 Elliott Moore

A massive job for Des and the recruitment team if we make it on Saturday. Watching the respective play offs - Championship to L2 - there looks huge chasms in ability between each division. You don't very often get to watch two back to back matches from each division in the space of a week or so...

    Current Player #5 Elliott Moore

Moore, as an out and out defender, is comfortably Championship standard. We've been blessed with some truly superb centre backs in the last 8 or 9 years - Dunkley, Nelson, Dickie, Atkinson, McNally, Wright, who was another superb out and out defender, and even the likes of Negru look very good...

    Manager/Coach Des Buckingham

Oh hindsight is a wonderful thing! I hold my hands up, I got Des wrong as did others but don’t pretend it was just the Bolton game - it was the lead up to it. The 5-0 thrashing was, if you like, the icing (or the burnt bit probably more apt!) on the cake but the run from Christmas, with the odd...

Can an under 18 (at start of this season) season ticket holder also purchase the 6 tickets?

Away Match Day Thread 08/05/2024: L1 Play-Off SF 2nd Leg - Peterborough vs OUFC

Good!!! I'd never want us to be a constant team doing the dark arts, ala Lincoln, but the odd game and occasion I'm delighted to see it. We've lacked some street wisdom for a while now but last night was a match for any of those past teams that took gamesmanship and spoiling to another level...

Away Match Day Thread 08/05/2024: L1 Play-Off SF 2nd Leg - Peterborough vs OUFC

I'm sure he must feel a bit of a closeness to Oxford, especially now the season has ended, and it sounds like he's heaping the pressure on Bolton. We can't call it a free hit but there's no doubt about it that Bolton go in to this game carrying all the expectation. I'd also suggest that Evatt's...

I know what you’re saying but we were superb defensively the other night too, the drama though made last night our best defensive display, I agree.

    Current Player #18 Marcus McGuane

Yeah, I too could just see a goal going in and then the beginning of an absolute castigation of McGuane! …. ‘Downing tools’ might have also reared its ugly head again !!!! 🤣🤣
