General Manager Sack Watch

West Ham show their loyalty. I hope next season is a disaster.
I think there's a bit more to this than meets the eye
I've heard Moyes is a control freak
A number of coaches including Stuart Pearce and Mark Warburton have left in the recent past as they could no longer put up with the working environment under him

Daryll Clarke has left Cheltenham to join Barnsley. Barnsley seem to like Robins managers, after taking Duff from them a couple of years ago.

Where this leaves Matty Taylor is anyone’s guess. Player manager?

Wayne Rooney linked with Plymouth so that’s at least 1 team we know we are finishing above.

Overall record:
Derby (14/11/20-end of season) P35 W10 D8 L17
Derby (2021-22 season) P49 W11 D12 L26
DC United (31/01/22-end of season) P14 W2 D3 L9
DC United (2023 season) P37 W11 D11 L15
Birmingham (11/10/23 - 02/01/24) P15 W2 D4 L9

I'm not sure I see this record endorsing him as a manager with potential

I think maybe he should go to a league two team and work his way back up would be good for his managerial career . If you keep jumping into position which are out of your depth your always going to fail

Maybe Swindon would be a good fit

Rooney to Plymouth must be a fricking joke. Who would employ him with his shite record.
150 games and he’s won just 36. A Win rate of 24%, 25% draws and just over 50% of losses.
At that rate Plymouth would be lucky to pick up 45 points.

He did alright at Derby, to be fair, but going to the US and then becoming part of the circus at Birmingham - and failing spectacularly - probably means he's going to have to start far lower down than the Championship. Could see him eventually getting back in at somewhere like Wrexham, Salford, Stockport - one of those north west clubs always seemingly looking to keep a high profile. Wouldn't touch him at Championship level though.

I mean, he took Derby from bottom of the table to the giddy heights of 21st.......but they only got 44 points, so in any normal season, they would have been relegated. There were just two really bad teams that year (Rotherham & Wycombe) and Wednesday got a big points deduction.

Honestly, I think at this point, you just have to think that he's just a bad manager. Just because you were a great player, doesn't mean you have the brains or the temperament to manage. I remember when Tony Adams tried to get into management, he was totally useless everywhere he went until eventually clubs just stopped calling.

Plymouth would be nuts to hire him at this point. Maybe a club lower down the pyramid, whose fans are bored and restless and want a bit of excitement, might roll the dice. But otherwise, there's about 1000 better options out there based on track record.
