We need a 2 or 3 goal lead going into the second leg IMO.
Team:

Cumming
Stevens Moore Brown Bennett
Brannagan
Goodhram Rodrigues
Dale Harris Murphy

Subs: Eastwood, Long, Thorniley, McEachran, Browne, Bodin, Henry

I think you're exactly right with the team. Sam Long has recovered from his illness but I think Des will stick with the team that beat Exeter.

A 2 or 3 goal lead will be lovely, but I'd be happy with a single goal advantage to take away. Any team that has to come at us looks vulnerable to Murphy, Harris and Dale running into the space.

I think we will win 2-1 with Harris and Ruben getting the goals.

The only logical starting 11 tbh, bringing Long back in after illness would be a risk imo

Really hope we get at them, we look so much more dangerous when playing with freedom

OUFC 3-2 Peterborough (watch it be 0-0 now)

If TG and RR are at the top of their game and weigh in with a goal or two we should win comfortably but who knows. And it will only be halftime!

RR is a big game player as is Murphy so I expect them to step up to the occasion. If that happens then we have a chance of doing a job on Peterborough. We have to stay solid and compact at the back at the same time.

Wigan based Lewis Smith, 30, is the man in the middle for this eveningโ€™s play-off clash with Peterborough United at OX4.

The highly rated Smith became the youngest Premier League referee since 2010 when he took charge of two matches in Feb/March.
This season he has refereed 44 matches issuing 168 yellows cards and six reds.He also refereed some top flight games in Japan a couple of months ago.

Smith did not referee any Oxford Utd games in the regular 2023-24 season with his last Uโ€™s fixture being a 1-0 loss at Lincoln in March 2023.
He awarded the Imps the winning penalty after penalising Sam Long for a clumsy foul on Danny Mandroiu in the first half.

Smith refereed two Peterborough matches during 2023-24 - the home 2-4 loss to Derby last August and the 3-0 away win at Blackpool,
in the EFL Trophy back in February.

Leigh not on the bench?

Iโ€™d play the same team but have Leigh on the bench instead of Thorniley and Iโ€™d be tempted to have Burey on there as some kind of Hail Mary redemption arc instead of one of Bodin or Henry

Morning all! Howโ€™s the nerves? Frankieโ€™s and bennys booked along with several pints in the sports bar prior! COME ON YOU YELLOWS

It certainly wonโ€™t be a replica of the 5-0 win a few weeks ago. We need to get at them and keep at it all game.

Feels nice to concentrate on the football today!

Can see it being quite tight tonight. Perhaps a score draw?

Ah yes, F & B's for fine dining! The Loungers will be enjoying the culinary delights of that venerable emporium also. We may pass on the sports bar favouring a bottle of something red with dinner.
(it's an excuse to arrive early and claim a parking space!)
